BORIMIX: Puerto Rico Fest 2019
The month of November is going to bring forth a special treat here at The Clemente. In collaboration with Teatro SEA and Teatro LATEA, we are very excited to announce BORIMIX 2019. Mark your calendars for November 1st to kick things off. If you can’t make it, don’t worry, you will still have till the end of November to see some great artwork for Latinx artists.
BORIMIX: Puerto Rico Fest was established in 2005 to celebrate Puerto Rican Heritage Month by showcasing great Puerto Rican art in a range of mediums. Initially held exclusively at The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural & Educational Center in the Lower East Side, the festival expanded in 2007 to include multiple venues around the city. BORIMIX: Puerto Rico Fest 2007 also inaugurated the BORIMIX Award, which recognizes and honors individuals and companies who have contributed to, supported and advocated for Puerto Rican arts in New York City. The mission of BORIMIX: Puerto Rico Fest is to make Puerto Rican arts accessible to a multi-ethnic and multi-generational audience, and to promote collaboration between Latino artists.
Celebrate BORIMIX: Puerto Rico Fest 2019 with our festival kick-off event at Teatro SEA and The Clemente! The evening begins with the BORIMIX Awards Ceremony honoring leaders in the Puerto Rican and Ecuadorian community and follows with the opening of our visual arts exhibitions, and special entertainment by Latin Artists. Don’t miss this fun-filled evening celebrating both Puerto Rican and Ecuadorian, arts and culture!
