Elisabeth Condon has developed an extensive body of work that exploits the spill of poured paint as a central landmark in her compositions. Her paintings infuse multiple visual references from Chinese scroll painting; decorative textiles, and places lived or traveled with a glam rock aesthetic embracing materials such as glitter, pumice, ink, and acrylic. Condon’s works resonate with a sense of place, and the artist frequents residencies at Wave Hill, the Swatch Peace Hotel Shanghai, Yaddo, and National Park Residencies at the Grand Canyon and Florida Everglades. Condon is currently completing a commission for the Tampa International Airport. Her recent exhibitions include Emerson-Dorsch, Miami, and Lesley Heller Workspace, New York. Recipient of the New York School Alumni Association’s Mercedes Matter Award and the 2015 New York Pulse Prize, the Los Angeles native lives and works in New York, NY.
