Kylie Heidenheimer’s paintings have been described as “repositories of matter and metaphors for space”. She was born in Gainesville Florida, grew up in St. Louis and now lives and works in New York City. She has had six solo shows since 2007 including two at Galerie Gris in Hudson. The first show at Gris was reviewed in the Albany Times Union in 2013. The solo shows in New York City have included a selection of works at J.C.Flowers & Co (2012), the show RIFT at 532 Gallery Thomas Jaeckel (2009) and the show BURSTS, ATMOSPHERE and STASIS at Columbia University’s Italian Academy (2007). An expanded version of the latter exhibition took place at Ohio Northern University in 2008 and included an eleven-color plate catalog. Heidenheimer has participated in Cutlog Art Fair in New York City in 2014 and 2013 as well as Aqua Art Fairs 2011 and 2010 in Miami. Venues in New York City and Brooklyn in which she has participated in group exhibitions include 532 Gallery Thomas Jaeckel, Feature, Inc, STOREFRONT Bushwick, Kianga Ellis Projects and Janet Kurnatowski Gallery. She has also participated in group shows at Galerie Gris, LABspace in Great Barrington, MA and Raritan Valley Community College in Long Branch, NJ (New York Times review). Heidenheimer has attended artist residencies at Yaddo, Blue Mountain Center, The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and the Millay Colony. She has an MFA from Hunter College and BFA from Washington University.
