‘Entre la tragedia y la belleza, ¿qué hacer?’ is a multi-media exhibition of works by artists Bel Falleiros, Elizabeth Velázquez, Fefa Melo, Renata Cruz and Lina Puerta, who during the beginning of the pandemic created a space for listening and mutual strengthening, and cultivated gestures of connection with nature, seeking to establish a healing alliance. For their exhibition in Abrazo Interno Gallery, this group of artists will exhibit works made individually, but that somehow represent the force that connects and inspires them to work as artists in today's world. It is as if each of these works could have been made by any of us or by all of us at the same time. They are works that represent this connection to our individual and collective selves, and to the world and living beings of which we are all a part.

What is it like to live today on this planet of announced tragedies?

One way to answer this question would be to think about the force of the manifestation of life that, despite everything, sprouts and is reborn every day, in every detail, in every being: in the possibility of in BETWEEN.  An in BETWEEN (a word that names the exhibition) that sits in the small cracks, where it is possible to take action and resist.

Another way is to remember the strength of bodies that go beyond themselves and create networks of interconnection, like between the roots of trees in a forest, erasing the boundaries of what is considered the individual.

How not to forget that we are part of this chain of reciprocity?

BEAUTY is presented to us as a necessary possibility, often silent and discreet, but which is present and alive (in nature, its multiple beings and their ancestors) when we are ready to listen.  A movement that pays attention to the manifestation of life (and death, and rebirth) in every detail, pulsing within each beingand that can create alliances to regenerate the network of presences that constitutes us.
