SALUDOS FAMILIA!
Join us for the official launch of CITICIEN: The Jones-Shafroth Act — A 100 Year+ Mark on Puerto Rican Art, returning to The Clemente Soto Vélez Cultural and Educational Center, where the original CITICIEN exhibition first opened in 2017.
Nearly ten years later, CITICIEN returns in book form—bringing together the work and voices of more than 100 Puerto Rican artists, poets, musicians, and cultural workers exploring citizenship, colonialism, migration, identity, resistance, and Puerto Rico’s ongoing struggle for self-determination.
The evening will bring the book to life with live music, poetry, selected artwork, conversation, and community.
Books will be available for purchase at the event, and we encourage everyone to treat the night like a cultural yearbook experience: meet the contributors, have them sign your copy, and make the book part of your own personal archive.
This is more than a book launch. It is a reunion, a continuation of a conversation that began in 2017, and a celebration of the artists and community who made CITICIEN possible.
Come celebrate, connect, build, remember, and continue the conversation with us.
