Discounted Rehearsal Space Program
Are you a performing artist in need of rehearsal space?
Prioritizing BIPOC artists and performing arts entities from underserved and under-resourced communities, The Clemente’s Discounted Rehearsal Space Program will provide discounted rentals to artists and entities in New York City, for $15/hour at our 3rd floor studio space, Room 309.
The Clemente strives to provide accessible rehearsal spaces for the creative performing arts as a vision and advocacy platform for equitable funding and structural support for culturally specific artists and performing groups in New York.
The opportunity is open until we reach capacity. Emails confirming booking and rehearsal dates will be sent directly to the registrant and proof of payment will be requested when entering The Clemente building.
Fees: $15/hour
Location: 3rd Floor Studio, Room 309 (No Elevator)
Availability:
Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Sunday until 6:00 PM
Excludes Federal Holidays and select weeks when The Clemente requires use of the space.
Note: This program is open until we reach capacity.
Studio Specifications
Accommodates up to 12 individuals
Equipped with 1 table and 10 chairs (technical equipment not provided)
2-hour minimum booking (includes setup and breakdown)
Shared Space Policy
Renters are required to leave the studio in its original condition. This includes:
Clearing out all trash
Removing personal items
Breaking down tables
Neatly stacking chairs to the side
Proof of Payment
Email confirmations for booking and rehearsal dates will be sent directly to the registrant. Proof of payment must be presented upon entry to The Clemente building.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled booking are non-refundable.
The Clemente reserves the right to cancel bookings with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
Usage Policy
The studio is reserved exclusively for performing arts rehearsals. Other activities—including but not limited to events, classes, workshops, or any form of film/photo-related use—will be flagged and subject to cancellation.

The studio is on the 3rd Floor, Room 309 of The Clemente. Please note: There is no elevator access to this studio.

Unfortunately, no. The booking system is non-customizable. If you need more time, please book the following available slot.

Please check our online booking page for the most up-to-date availability. Standard time slots run in 2-hour increments (10:00 AM–12:00 PM, 12:00–2:00 PM, etc.) on weekdays until 10:00 PM (Sundays until 6:00 PM). If a slot isn’t listed, it’s already booked. Only the times shown online can be reserved. If you see an available non standard time (e.g., 5:45 PM or 6:30 PM), please do not book it. Please contact us directly, and we’ll assist you.

Once your agreement is signed and payment is submitted, here’s what to expect on the day of your booking:
Arrival: Please arrive no earlier or later than 10 minutes from your scheduled start time.
Check-in: Stop by the front desk to show your confirmation email to gain access to the studio. Please do not go directly to the studio without checking in at the front desk.
Timing: Early entry before your scheduled booking is not permitted, so please plan accordingly. When your rehearsal ends, please exit the studio on time. This ensures a smooth check-in process and helps all renters stay on schedule.

The studio does not have wall mirrors. It is equipped with one free-standing mirror for use during rehearsals.

The studio does have an upright piano, but we cannot guarantee its tuning quality. We recommend bringing your own keyboard to ensure the best experience for your rehearsal.

No, the studio does not come equipped with any technical equipment, including sound systems or speakers. Please plan to bring any equipment you may need for your rehearsal.

No, the studio is not soundproofed. Please keep this in mind when planning your rehearsal.

The building is equipped with NYCMesh.net Community Wi-Fi (no password needed). Please note that the signal may be limited inside the studio.

Unfortunately, no. Please remove all your belongings at the end of your rehearsal, as this studio is a shared space. Any items left behind will incur an additional $40 penalty, which will be applied to your account.

The studio accommodates a maximum of 12 people. If your group exceeds this number, please contact us to discuss alternative spaces and rates that may suit your needs.

No, the discounted Rehearsal Space Program rate is strictly for performing arts rehearsals. If your rehearsal includes additional elements such as workshops or classes, please complete a rental intake form on our website. Our Rentals and Events team will follow up to provide alternative rates that may suit your needs.
