Maya Englehardt-Lorenzana (she/her) is a Chilean/Puerto Rican/American artist and designer with roots in music, dance, and a deep love for nature. Based in NYC, she received her AAS in Illustration from the Fashion Institute of Technology and continues practicing through various freelance design.
As a fine artist working in physical mediums and digital animation, her work centers themes of time, ancestry, lineage, and the relation of ecology to all three. It accesses the same spiritual/ancestral spaces as music and dance, mirroring the record store/club music scene she was raised in.
Her work has been featured in group exhibitions at Jane St. Art Center and Nonchalant Gallery, and continues to evolve into a personal exhibition exploring themes of family lineage and personal freedom.
